5 Hacks to Be More Hydrated

5 Hacks to Be More Hydrated
Dehydration is very common, however being hydrated is one of simplest yet most powerful things you can do for yourself. For a lot of people drinking when you are thirsty is not enough. Three out of four people do not meet their daily water recommendations. Dehydration can show itself as dry skin, constant headaches, being sore for days after a workout, lightheadedness and much more. Sometimes this can be as easy as drinking more water, but many people I talk to say it’s harder than that. Here is five hacks to stay hydrated
1️⃣ Eat More Fruit and Veggies🥕 🥦 🍓
Fruits and vegetables are typically made up of more water than anything else. Adding in a serving or two of fruit can help you stay more hydrated.
2️⃣ Drink Water when you Wake Up Even if you Don’t Want To 🛌 ➡️ 🥤
Think about it, when you wake up you have not had any water in at least 6-8 hours. Your body is begging you for some high quality H2O. Chug a glass of water to start your day. It may be tough at first but eventually your body will become accustom and even crave it.
3️⃣ Add Sugar Free Syrups or Drink Mix. 🍓🥝 🍋
There are tons of good sugar free drink mixes out there. Try several and find your favorite. If it makes you more likely to drink water throughout the day it is worth it!
4️⃣ Add Salt and Electrolytes to your Diet🧂🧃
Electrolytes are a couple different minerals that allow your body to regulate fluid balance. Sodium AKA salt is the most important of these electrolytes. A common problem people have when eating healthier and sweating more is that their sodium levels go way down. While too much salt is a problem, too little salt is also a problem and it may be leading to your dehydration. (If you struggle with hypertension then adding salt is not recommended) Liquid IV is my favorite electrolyte brand. Specifically the firecracker flavor.
5️⃣ Bring your Water Bottle Everywhere 🏋️♂️👷♀️🚶♂️
Carrying a water bottle with you is great way to drink more water. It takes away the excuse of not thinking about it. It’s literally beside you!! Plus it is trendy. If you want to look cool and be hydrated, start carrying a water bottle.
How Much Should I Drink?
The Recommended Daily Allowance for water 124oz for men and 92oz for women.
