Do hard things

Do Hard Things

Stepping out of your comfort zone can be well… uncomfortable. But oftentimes that is exactly what we need.

Last march I signed up for a mountain bike race that seemed impossible at the time. It was 62 miles of trails with rolling hills and impossible rock features. But I exercised a lot in preparation.

Often riding over 100 miles per week and spending 10+ hours on my bike. And even then, I was worried I was unprepared.

This past weekend I completed that race. And the feeling I got as I crossed the finish line was hard to beat.

Now, that was my hard thing. Everyone's level of hard is different. For you it may be walking into the gym, and the finish line maybe leaving knowing you did something good for yourself. Maybe, it is signing up for a 5k even though you don’t classify yourself as a runner, meal prepping for the week, or reaching out to a personal trainer. Getting out of your comfort zone is often required to get you to where you want to go.
